Mother & Daughter Evenings

I LOVE being a mom! Being blessed with two beautiful daughters has brought me the greatest joy that I could ever imagine. I feel very passionate about the bonds between mothers and daughters. I have proven and tested insights of raising girls and young women to adulthood. The importance of the mother/daughter or significant female role model will be lovingly and intricately discussed. How to strengthen the bonds between this important relationship will be celebrated.

We have two educational evenings held at Brio Salon.

These evenings are not a make-over, they are evenings of enhancing the beauty that comes from within as everything externally is a mirror reflection of what is going on internally and rather than masking ourselves, these evenings are about bringing our inner brilliance out to shine!

Heather and Kristin Tytula are a mother daughter team who we are privileged to learn from their expertise in the beauty industry. I feel it is important for young women to have the knowledge (knowledge is power) in this area if they so desire to express themselves in this way.

I have been working in the beauty industry for over a decade, and rarely do I come across a person as selfless and caring as Renae Peterson. When she approached me to assist with the program, there wasn’t a hint of hesitation. I have always enjoyed working with young people, and here was a chance to help change the lives of many. I have seen this course in action and I have seen the positive changes it has inspired in these young girls. Beautiful from the Inside Out teaches each young woman that they are special, and that they are enough!  Something many of us don’t understand growing up is how important the relationship with our mother can be. We wanted to show these young women and their moms just how much they need each other, so we came up with the idea of a mother daughter night, which has now grown into two amazing evenings.

The first Mother/Daughter Evening is where each young woman brings their mom, or woman who is special to them, to Brio Salon for 2.5 – 3 hours. Everyone learns the basics of hair care, skincare and makeup. We talk about face shapes, different makeup applications, and what hair cuts and colors will look best on them. As a professional stylist, I try to address any concerns and tips I have, not just for the daughters, but for the moms as well.

The second Mother/Daughter Evening is a personal coaching evening where the young women and their mothers gain expertise and knowledge on how to re-create the looks they see around them in their daily lives.  Instead of watching a stylist use professional tools and observing how to create a look, the young women and their mothers actually get one on one training from an educated stylist on how to use the tools that they have brought from home.  It’s also a great way to spend some quality time making mother/daughter memories.Kristen Tytual, Master Stylist Brio Salon

My hope for my time with these girls is to give them a fun and educational evening that inspires them to try new things that suit them and enhance their already beautiful features. To shine as the brightest versions of themselves, not hide behind the mask of what others think they should be. It is truly one of the most rewarding things I have had the honor of participating in!

Mother/Daughter Purely Inspired Hair/Make-up/photos Evening

The third Mother/Daughter Evening, held at Purely Inspired, is for both the mothers and daughters to be pampered by having their hair and make-up done. Professional photos are then taken by Mark Orenstein from Lifetouch to capture the memory.  These photos are given out at the graduation ceremony.

I love being a part of something so positive in the lives of these young women. Anything that builds Self-Esteem and Self-Worth is a VERY valuable investment of my time and resources. I am proud of our contribution to the Beautiful From the Inside Out program.Mark Orenstein, Lifetouch photographer
